Every Bel Air summer runs on the same short list of Thursday evenings, Friday lawns, and Sunday afternoons. This one is different in a specific way, and the difference is worth planning around: the Getty Center closes in the spring of 2027 for roughly a year of modernization work, which makes the 2026 season of Off the 405 the last free-concert summer up on the hill until the museum reopens in 2028.

That single fact reshapes the calendar for anyone who already lives here. The nights that usually rotate through with a shrug now carry a countdown. Below is how the season actually stacks up, from the top of the 405 down to the Glen, with the specific dates, menus, and new arrivals a resident would want to hold onto.

The Getty summer that isn't coming back

Off the 405 returns for a full run in 2026 before the museum's temporary closure, and this year's lineup skews toward artists working at the outer edges of their genres. The remaining dates are:

• Thursday, July 30 open, with Horse Lords on July 25 already behind us and Laurel Halo closing the series on Saturday, August 22.
• Doors and DJ sets in the courtyard begin at 6 p.m., with the headline set at 7:30.

Reservations open roughly three weeks before each show and go quickly. On concert nights the Getty Center stays open until 9 p.m. with free parking after 6, which is the small logistical detail that determines whether you leave the house at 5:45 or at 6:45.

A mile north on Sepulveda, the Skirball's Sunset Concerts are running their 29th season, and this year the programming is organized around a jazz-forward reading of America250. The four-night series is booked as follows:

The shows are free, first-come first-served, with two performances a night at 7 and 8:15. Parking is $20 and street parking is not permitted around the campus, which is the sentence that separates residents who arrive on time from guests who circle Mulholland trying to park at the top of Casiano.

The scheduling quirk worth flagging: July 30 is also a Getty concert night. Tortoise at the Skirball versus the Getty's DJ-and-galleries setup is the only real Thursday conflict of the summer, and it is the kind of choice that tends to sort itself along household lines. The rest of the Thursdays line up cleanly, which means a resident who wants to see all four Skirball shows and the two remaining Getty shows can do it without giving up a single evening at home.

The Front Lawn, closer to home

For anyone who prefers to stay inside the gates, Hotel Bel-Air has stacked its summer programming on the Front Lawn and in The Living Room, and much of it is bookable without a room reservation.

Through June, The Restaurant at Hotel Bel-Air ran a Jet Setter Menu on Monday through Thursday evenings, each night themed around a different region and paired with the corresponding wines. The Garden Afternoon Tea in The Living Room, on the newly redecorated space with hummingbirds and citrus blossoms painted onto the walls, runs Friday through Sunday and holds its own against the equivalent service on the other side of Sunset.

Movies Under the Stars returns to the Front Lawn in July and August with a rotating slate that includes La La Land, Pretty Woman, and Ocean's Eleven.

The annual Bel-Air Barbecue, on the same Front Lawn in late summer, brings in culinary director Joe Garcia alongside a rotating chef roster that this year includes Burt Bakman of Slab, Jackson Kalb of Ospi and Jemma, and Ray Garcia of Asterid and ¡VIVA!.

At the intersection of Beverly Glen and Mulholland, the Glen Centre remains the everyday grocery-and-dinner anchor for the east side of the neighborhood, and it is quietly in the middle of a tenant refresh.

The most concrete piece of news: The Taco Stand, the San Diego–born taqueria known for its Tijuana-style tacos, carne asada fries, and house-made tortillas, has filed for the storefront at 2958 Beverly Glen Circle and is listed as "coming soon" on both the chain's own locations page and the Glen Centre's leasing packet, with an ABC permit application filed in early July. There is no firm opening date yet, but the paperwork suggests the Westside's first location will land in the second half of the year. Cofounders Julian Hakim and Aram Baloyan have been running a steady expansion out of La Jolla since 2013.

The rest of the tenant roster reads the way it has for years, and for once that continuity is the point:

• Il Segreto, Giacomino Drago's Bel Air room at 2932 Beverly Glen Circle, tucked at the end of the covered corridor, with the barrel-vaulted ceiling and Venetian plaster
• Vibrato Grill Jazz, still running live music most nights
• Jayde's Market, the small grocer with the deli and coffee counter that most Bel Air households treat as the default weeknight stop
• Starbucks, at the corner, doing what Starbucks does
• Sweet Butter Kitchen and Mistral, both within walking distance

The Glen Centre's own leasing materials cite roughly one million annual visits inside a one-mile radius, which is the number that explains why a San Diego chain would pick this parking lot for its first Westside room.
